Before Google made its announcement that Google.cn will be redirecting to Google.com.hk in March, 22, 2010, some Chinese netizens wrote an
open letter to relevant Chinese government and Google. The letter expresses that Chinese Internet users, the people will be affected most by Google-China issue, have been left in the dark. Neither of the two parties have mentioned the potential impact to Chinese digerati, enterprises, education-related staff, students, media-related employees, etc. A list of questions have been raised in the letter and anticipated for feedback. The letter also states that “We support necessary censorship of Internet content and communications, whether it is on Google or any other foreign or domestic company, But we hope that such censorship should be conducted as follows:
