Domain priced at least 60% below its sale price in 2007.
I was just reading Elliot’s post about the latest Sedo Great Domains auction, and one domain caught my eye.
Zimbabwe.com is for sale with a reserve range of $25,000 to $50,000. Even at the top end of this range, the owner is taking a 60% haircut from when it sold for $130,000 back in 2007 (also on Sedo).
The domain has been listed for sale in numerous auctions since then, often times for more than the $130,000 amount it sold for in 2007.
This would be a very difficult domain to monetize. Zimbabwe is still ruled by a ruthless dictator and is in shambles. Inflation is now under control because the government shelved its currency. Tourism is limited, save for Bob Parsons.
Still, at this price it might just be worth paying it to say you own a country .com.
